Drydocked as before. 2024 steam supply from the dock was secured. 2115 pursuant to the orders of the Commanding Officer, Reference: SOPA Mailgram dated 2 February 1944, the following named men left the ship to report to the Commanding Officer Enlisted Personnel, Yard Barracks for Shore Patrol duties for the period 2 February through 6 February: SHEARER, J.C., GM3c, V-6 USNR, 632 12 03, TIERNEY, B.V., GM3c V-6 USNR, 666 43 82, BAGEN, J.P., GM3c, USN, 321 43 90; COOK, E.T., FC3c(M) V-6 USNR, 647 68 21. 2135 supply of steam from the dock resumed. 2150 sounded fire quarters. Fire on port side of main deck at Frame 64. Temporary lighting connecting box shorted and caused insulation of leads to burn. Fire was put out in about three (3) minutes with CO2 extinguisher. Damage was only to leads and connecting box. Power on these lines is secured until damage is repaired. 2158 secured from fire quarters.
