Motor whaleboat could not be dislodged before dark and was left to be recovered in the morning. 1710 The temporary shore patrol, FAY, L. E. ADDITIONAL REMARKS OF THE COMMANDING OFFICER

 

Upon departure from Havannah Harbor of Rear Admiral Giffen in WICHITA this date, Rear Admiral A. S. Merrill, Comcrudiv 12 in MONTPELIER became Commander Task Force 19 consisting of Crudiv 12, plus destroyers CONWAY, PHILLIPS, RENSHAW, WALLER, EATON and SAUFFLEY of which latter two are at present performing temporary duty with other forces. Departure of Task Force 19 from port this date was in accordance with orders of Commander, Third Fleet to rendezvous with Task Force 15 at 2000 G.C.T., 7 April in Latitude 15o 00' South, Longitude 165o 00' E., and maintain certain designated operating positions.
