Evea was a prominent Comanche Indian chief who signed a treaty with the Governor of Texas at San Antonio in June 1772.

Evea (YT-458), formerly Resolute, was acquired by the Navy on 16 May 1943. She was assigned duty in north African waters and reclassified YTB-458 on 15 May 1944. Evea was transferred to the French Navy under lend lease on 11 November 1944. Following her return to the United States, she was stricken from the Navy Register and sold.
