Engineer

One versed in or practicing any branch of engineering.


 

The second Engineer, a seagoing tug, was taken over in 1917 on loan from the Army and served in the 15th Naval District during World War I. She was returned to the Army in 1919, then purchased by the Navy on 9 October 1922. Engineer was reclassified YFB-12 and renamed San Felipe on 1 November 1922. She served as a passenger ferryboat in the 16th Naval District until stricken from the Navy List on 24 July 1942.
