Azurlite

Azurlite is a semi-precious stone.

Azurlite (PY-22) was built in 1928 by Gerniania Werft, Kiel, Germany, as the yacht Vogabondia; acquired by the Navv 9 December 1941 ; commissioned 16 Marcb 1942, Lieutenant P. H. Dennier, Jr., USNR, in command; and reported to the Pacific Fleet.

Between 20 June 1942 and November 1945, with only brief interruptions, Azurlite served on picket, screen, escort, and weather patrol duties under Commander, Sea Forces, Hawaiian Sea Frontier. On two occasions during 1944 she escorted convoys to the Gilbert Islands.

Azurlite returned to San Francisco 15 November 1945 and remained there until decommissioned 22 January 1946. She was transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal 29 January 1947.
