A sound off the coast of Florida.


Hobe Sound (AV-20), a Tangier-class seaplane tender, was to be built at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock, Newport News, Va., but was cancelled 28 October 1944. Her appropriations were used to build Bryce Canyon (AD-36) at Charleston, S.C.
