Cardinal O'Connell

Former name retained.


Cardinal O'Connell (T-AKV-7) served with the Army Transportation Corps, and was acquired by the Navy in December 1949 for transfer to the Military Sea Transportation Service in March 1950. Between March 1950 and January 1954 she made trips to the Gulf Coast, most of the major islands of the Pacific and to the Far East with cargo to support the United Nations in the Korean campaign. She was stricken from the Navy Register on 11 March 1954.
