CH Type

submarine

During the First World War, a number of British 'H' class submarines were built in shipyards in Canada and the United States. Two members of this class were built in Quincy, Mass., H14 and H15, and were presented to the RCN in 1919.  While the 'H' class was regarded as the most successful type in service with the RN during the First World War, they were seldom put to use in the RCN, and were paid off in 1922.
