Haze Gray Mystery Picture #134 Answer

 [MYSTERY IMAGE]

Can You Identify This Ship?

This is the Spanish cruiser Canarias.

Canarias and her sister Baleares were built in the 1930's, and were distinguished by an unusual tower superstructure and a single massive trunked uptake. Both ships entered service with somewhat improvised armament as a result of the Spanish civil war. Baleares was lost in the war, but Canarias survived both the civil war and WWII. She was modernized in the 1950's, receiving the two new funnels seen here in place of the original trunked uptake. She finally left service in the 1970's, one of the last all-gun cruisers in service.
