HMCS Vancouver

Underway

[THUMBNAIL] A fine overhead view of Vancouver's starboard side. This view shows the general layout of the ships, which is fairly typical of many western frigates. The ship's medium-caliber gun is forward, with vertical-launch missile tubes abreast the uptakes midships. The flight deck and helo hangar are aft, with the standard US Phalanx CIWS atop the hangar.

[THUMBNAIL] A port side view of Vancouver with her namesake city in the background. Her high bow and broad beam are evident, with both features making her suited to the rough seas usually encountered in Canadian operating areas. The frigates of this class have excellent seakeeping qualities.
