Chepanoc

An Indian village in North Carolina.


Chepanoc built by Gulfport Boiler and Welding Works, Port Arthur, Texas, under subcontract from General Motors was laid down as YT-381, in 1944; was reclassified YTB-381 on 15 May 1944. She was placed in service and attached to Service Force, Pacific Fleet. In March 1946 she was placed in reserve until October 1957 when she was assigned to the 1st Naval District.
