Atlantic II

The Atlantic Ocean is a thirty million square mile body of water located between America, Europe, and Africa.

Atlantic II (SP-651), a yacht, was launched 29 July 1903 as Atlantic by Townsend and Downing, Shooter's Island, N. Y.: purchased by the Navy 10 June 1917 ; and commissioned 28 July 1917, Lieutenant C. S. Keller in command.

Joining Patrol Force, Atlantic Fleet, she cruised along the east coast until November 1917 when she was assigned duty as a guard ship at Yorktown, Va., and tender to a squadron of submarine chasers. In January 1919 she was assigned to the 5th Naval District and went out of commission at Norfolk Navy Yard 11 June 1919 and was sold 24 July 1919.
